As you finish writing and editing your APA research paper, you will want to create the important table of contents. This important paper will fall immediately after your title page. It has some specific guidelines and formatting, so when creating a proper APA research paper table of contents, use helpful tips.

Helpful Tips for Creating the Proper APA Table of Contents

  • Right side of page-the top right will have the running header and the page number. And example may look like this –The Effects of Standardized Testing on Kindergarteners 2
  • Centered –Table of Contents will be centered below the header. All fonts will be size 12 and all spacing is double-spaced.
  • Page 2-it will be placed on page two of your paper right after your title page. It may look like this-

  • The third page will read Abstract. This is the summary page.
  • Effects-you should mention on the next page (page four) the effects. It may read “The effects of standardized testing on kindergarten students”
  • Methods-page four will also be a mention of methods. The low and high-risk groups will be mentioned.
  • Additionally, you need to give the overall demographics of your group.
  • Introduction-page five will be your introduction of your APA piece.
  • Approaches-this will start on page five. It may have several sub-categories. It might look like this (notice the three-tab indentation for the sub-categories)-
